The old TV sold faster that I expected (and for full asking price!), so Bradley spent Friday morning buying and setting up the new television in the living room. It is really fantastic! And now the room feels SO much bigger! We broke it in with a movie that night – It’s Complicated with Meryl Streep and Steve Martin – a completely pointless movie, but funny none-the-less. I think we have decided to go ahead and mount the TV on the wall and he has ordered some speaker stands to move those off of the buffet table also.
I was unsure about using the buffet table under the TV since it is only 36″ wide and the TV is 43″ wide, but Bradley says he really likes it. We removed the back panel so that the components can live inside the cabinet. We are getting another RF receiver so that we can control everything with the remotes even when the doors are closed.
I also finally repotted one of the large planters in the back yard. Part of the outer shell of the old terra cotta one had broken off due to the extremely wet, cold winter we had. The new one is the light-weight styrofoam kind, so hopefully it will be easier to move around.
For the guest bedroom, I painted and covered the seat of a wooden chair I had on hand. I had bought two of these chairs when we first moved in with the intention of refinishing them for the dining room. I only finished one, and it did not turn out quite like I had hoped and was noticeably smaller than our existing chairs. So I made lemonade from lemons. The fabric on the chairs is my first attempt to add to the color palette in this room. I got an inspiration palette from this YHL post. It seemed so perfect from the moment I saw it, since it has the robin’s egg blue in it, and since I love green. The soft grey rounds it out nicely, so I have a gallon of Canyon Echo by Glidden to paint the furniture pieces in this room to all match.
