Holiday House Tour 2010

My Christmas decorating changed a lot this year due to new furniture layouts in the living and dining rooms.  Also, I didn’t have a desire to pull out as much stuff this year.  We put up the tree and changed the foyer and dining room decor over from Fall decor to Christmas digs.  Bradley made a time lapse of us putting up the tree again this year:

Because I put the fish tank away, we had room for the tree in the living room this year.  That is wonderful for two reasons: 1. we don’t have to cram the tree into the corner of the dining room, making it difficult to have people over for dinner and 2. we get to enjoy the tree as we spend more time in the living room than in the dining room.

We have a few new ornaments this year from trips we took together.  Click here to see last year’s post with a complete list of sentimental ornaments.

1. A keychain-turned-ornament from Las Vegas (April 2010)

2. A brass ornament from our Boston trip (July 2010)

3. A hand-painted lizard from Mexico, which we named Azul (October 2010)

4. The last is a ‘make up’ ornament.  In May of 2005, while visiting my best friend in NYC, Bradley surprised me at Tavern on the Green with a proposal of marriage.  I of course said yes, but the restaurant closed its doors forever last year, so we will never have a chance to go back.  I found this ornament on ebay to commemorate our experience there.

I think Habitual Rearranger fits me well because I am never settled on designs, colors, or placement of items in our home. I drive Bradley crazy sometimes, but I keep figuring out new and better ways of doing things! I am not striving to be profound or an expert on anything in this blog. It is simply a way to keep a record of all of my adventures - home and life - for me to reference and also for my loved ones to follow along. I am a born and raised Georgia girl. I don't think I would enjoy living anywhere except the south. Bradley and I spent six and a half years in our starter home and are now in our forever home, a 1970s traditional two story brick house. I love getting into all kinds of projects around our house, and I try to document all the dirty details here if for no one else than for me.
