Holiday House Tour 2011 (part 2)

I spent some time getting the rest of our decorations photographed this weekend.  Now that I have created Pages for our Christmas decor over the years, I am only going to blog about new ornaments and locations each year from here on out.  I showed the changes to the dining room and foyer a few days ago.

Our new ornaments this year came from our trips to Yosemite and Savannah:

The full tree – I used the pheasant feathers from my fall decorations and some of the curly gold picks for the tree topper this year instead of my traditional bow.  Also, I used a fluffy red blanket as my tree skirt this year after an unfortunate incident with the crippled cat and the ties on the tree skirt last year.

In the kitchen, I dressed the window with an old red beaded wreath that I got from Bed, Bath and Beyond in college and the Dr. Suessish tree that Bradley gave me the first year we were married.

Last year, I broke down and bought a mosaic mirror tree from Target for the powder room.  It fits the corner on the counter perfectly.

In the living room, I put out a mini poinsettia and Christmas cactus to brighten the ottoman and side table:

I put the African nativity on the buffet under the television.  Because the nativity and table are both dark brown, I put out the gold snowflake runner to make the nativity show up more.

I think Habitual Rearranger fits me well because I am never settled on designs, colors, or placement of items in our home. I drive Bradley crazy sometimes, but I keep figuring out new and better ways of doing things! I am not striving to be profound or an expert on anything in this blog. It is simply a way to keep a record of all of my adventures - home and life - for me to reference and also for my loved ones to follow along. I am a born and raised Georgia girl. I don't think I would enjoy living anywhere except the south. Bradley and I spent six and a half years in our starter home and are now in our forever home, a 1970s traditional two story brick house. I love getting into all kinds of projects around our house, and I try to document all the dirty details here if for no one else than for me.
