Weekend Project: Tablescaping

I have been making some changes in the dining room this weekend.  Bradley likes our table extended, so I am working around a new setup.  I added my new table runner and art, and have been working on the buffet a little too.

I also worked on making some DIY was napkin rings.  I decided not to put the wine glasses back in the tablescape, so I needed a way to display the blue napkins.  Napkin rings are not terribly expensive, but I hated to spend the money, so I made my own.  I found some wide chocolate ribbon at Big Lots for $1 and I used the dried flowers I already had (in the blue vase) to give the napkins a punch of personality.  In the blue vase, I found some white dried filler in the Christmas clearance for $0.75!  I have found that I enjoy doing projects around the house, but I am not good with finishing touches.  Nothing ever feels complete.  It is an inner war between wanting that straight-out-of-a-magazine look and my loathing of clutter and chotchkies.  Sigh...

I think Habitual Rearranger fits me well because I am never settled on designs, colors, or placement of items in our home. I drive Bradley crazy sometimes, but I keep figuring out new and better ways of doing things! I am not striving to be profound or an expert on anything in this blog. It is simply a way to keep a record of all of my adventures - home and life - for me to reference and also for my loved ones to follow along. I am a born and raised Georgia girl. I don't think I would enjoy living anywhere except the south. Bradley and I spent six and a half years in our starter home and are now in our forever home, a 1970s traditional two story brick house. I love getting into all kinds of projects around our house, and I try to document all the dirty details here if for no one else than for me.
