New Palms and Hydrangeas

I feel like a kid at Christmas.  Bradley had an event this week at church for which they bought big palm plants for staging.  After the event, he asked if he could take a couple of the plants home and the answer was Yessss!  They are huge and I would never have plopped down the money for these babies, but when they are free I am so excited!  They really help fill in the deep dark corners of the dining room that I have never been able to figure out.

The picture is not great, but you get the idea.  Fingers crossed that I can keep these alive.  I will say that I am getting better at it, but I still have my occasional casualty…

But that’s not all!  Just like last Easter, Apostles was filled with hydrangeas.  And just like last year, the staff got to take them home!  (giddy jumping up and down)  I heart hydrangeas!  Especially blue ones!  The one Bradley brought home last year found a home in our back yard.  My mom told me it was touch and go as to whether a “florist” hydrangea will live once its planted, but I am happy to report that it has put out crazy greenery already this year!  (as has the one we transplanted a few months ago!)  So here are my new beauties:

I’m afraid that I will be out of places to put these after this year, since they need some shade and we don’t have a whole lot of that at our house.  But then again maybe I just need to get more creative for next year!

I think Habitual Rearranger fits me well because I am never settled on designs, colors, or placement of items in our home. I drive Bradley crazy sometimes, but I keep figuring out new and better ways of doing things! I am not striving to be profound or an expert on anything in this blog. It is simply a way to keep a record of all of my adventures - home and life - for me to reference and also for my loved ones to follow along. I am a born and raised Georgia girl. I don't think I would enjoy living anywhere except the south. Bradley and I spent six and a half years in our starter home and are now in our forever home, a 1970s traditional two story brick house. I love getting into all kinds of projects around our house, and I try to document all the dirty details here if for no one else than for me.
