New Pillows and Projects

No major projects completed this weekend, but I thought I would post the few smaller things that have not made their way on here yet.  Bradley was being very intentional about speaking my love language this weekend and took apart the automatic composter he had given me for my birthday one year that had never worked and figured out what was wrong with it.  He had it up and running in no time!  Now we are just a little bit greener!

My mom gave me a tiny fern that she rescued with her local plant rescue group to use in my terrarium.  I also added a layer of river rocks, charcoal and extra soil to the bottom to beef it up and give the fern something to take hold to.

I also found some new pillows for the new-to-us couches that made my heart go pitter patter the moment I saw them.  I feel like they bridge the gap between the color and style of the couches and the green accent I am using in the room.  Traditional style and texture, but a fun pattern and just a hit of the green color.  I am keeping three of the uber soft throw pillows Bradley helped me pick out when we first got the couches, because the new ones would be very uncomfortable to nap on.

I also got the hummingbird feeder back up for the season.  I usually only have one or two find my feeder, but that’s worth it to me.  They are so fun to watch!

Lastly, I have had an inspiration picture up on my board for a while now with pillows from pottery barn in the green color I love, but also mixed with a fun lemon yellow.  I love the combo and wanted to pull some of the yellow into the kitchen since it is open to the living room, so inevitably has the green accents already.  My first thought was to add a cute kitchen towel to the stove, but it has been impossible to find one with this color combo.  Until a few weeks ago.  Crate and Barrel had a yellow and green striped towel and a yellow and green lemon patterned towel.  So perfect…almost.  I love towels with two patterns, the more fun being a band on one end of the towel, so I ordered both and had my mom make two striped towels with lemon patterned bands on them.  Just too cute!

I think Habitual Rearranger fits me well because I am never settled on designs, colors, or placement of items in our home. I drive Bradley crazy sometimes, but I keep figuring out new and better ways of doing things! I am not striving to be profound or an expert on anything in this blog. It is simply a way to keep a record of all of my adventures - home and life - for me to reference and also for my loved ones to follow along. I am a born and raised Georgia girl. I don't think I would enjoy living anywhere except the south. Bradley and I spent six and a half years in our starter home and are now in our forever home, a 1970s traditional two story brick house. I love getting into all kinds of projects around our house, and I try to document all the dirty details here if for no one else than for me.
