Now that some special news has been tweeted, I can share my weekend project from last weekend. I traveled up to my BFF’s house again, but this time we didn’t work on curtains. We were decluttering! When Lane called to ask for my help, I was envisioning closets spilling over with stuff, but was pleasantly surprised to find that the three closets she wanted to clean out were pretty bare except for a few bins and bags of stuff. We pulled everything out, sorted them into keep, throw away, and donate piles. Lane was hard-core about getting rid of stuff.
We finished in no time and ended up going through everything that had been gathering in her garage too. (A good bit more cluttered than the closets) In the end, her hubby’s SUV was stuffed to the gills with Goodwill donations and the garbage can had overflowed to the point that it looked like they must be moving out.
All of this due to nesting – yep, Lane is expecting! She wants to feel ordered and ready for the new addition and I was thrilled to be a part of it. We were able to consolodate their office into their bonus room that housed only a tv / video game console and ginormous bean bag, leaving the 3rd bedroom a clean and empty slate for a nursery! When I left the only thing hanging out in the soon-to-be nursery was a lone picture frame Lane had received from family:
