Fall is Coming!

All of my favorite decor blogs have started posting about fall decor.  (I’m guessing because all the catalogs are mailing out their fall issues:)  It has really got me in the mood to start dreaming about my fall decor.  I haven’t been doing much on the house front lately because I don’t want to spend money, so pulling out decor that I already own and changing things out is really appealing to me right now.  Plus, with fall comes cool temps, warm colors, and FOOTBALL!!!  So I basically can’t wait!

Here are some of my favorite things I have seen on some of my favorite blogs lately:

The Nester showcased this picture from Pottery Barn.  I love the texture and natural elements.

She also highlighted this fun corn husk wreath that I loved:

Thrifty Decor Chick is having a fall linky party, so I am sure there will be lots of fall eye candy to see.  I love this long tablescape she highlighted in the post:

Also, because no Fall is complete without Halloween, I thought I would revisit some favorites from Young House Love last year that totally inspired me.

I love the muted, more spooky vibe they had going on (versus the BAM orange).  I went to Target after Halloween and bought the bowl they had used on clearance.  Love their setup:

I also copied their bloody candles last year – their inspiration photo was so fun!

And lastly, I found this inspiration picture from Horchow.  I love the fun patterns made by the crystals as an alternative to the traditional Jack-o-lantern.

A look back at some of my fall decor last year:

I painted some GW brass candle holders black, draped burlap on our foyer table, and bought some small gourds for color.

For Halloween I worked on my spooky vibe by using cheesecloth on the foyer table, making some bloody candlesticks and putting the jack-o-lantern on a black cake stand.

I found these fun little skulls to use as filler in my hurricane on the dining table:

I think Habitual Rearranger fits me well because I am never settled on designs, colors, or placement of items in our home. I drive Bradley crazy sometimes, but I keep figuring out new and better ways of doing things! I am not striving to be profound or an expert on anything in this blog. It is simply a way to keep a record of all of my adventures - home and life - for me to reference and also for my loved ones to follow along. I am a born and raised Georgia girl. I don't think I would enjoy living anywhere except the south. Bradley and I spent six and a half years in our starter home and are now in our forever home, a 1970s traditional two story brick house. I love getting into all kinds of projects around our house, and I try to document all the dirty details here if for no one else than for me.
